Form Active Modeling
Experimentaion with approaches to behaviour driven geometry

My Role
Computational Designer @ AKT II
As part of my work with artist Dewitt Godfrey I have been doing a series of explorations on how to include simulation of behaviour into an artistic sculptural process.

During my work with Dewitt Godfrey, much experimentation has been done to find new ways
of exploring behaviour driven geometry. As an artist he's always looking for new effects or means of feedback
between the digital and physical. Majority of this work has been for various proposals that
may or may not have been successful, and this page shows a selection of this "background work".
A continuous topic has been to capture more unpredictable behaviours in a digital process. This represents a computational
equivalent to the artists early sculptures which were the product of more "informal" experimentation with
rolled steel and its elastic behaviour.
